Houseplant Workshop with Uncommon Plant Guy
Love plants and need an excuse to make some plans? Join the Uncommon Plant Guy at our taproom for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to make your own kokedama—a beautiful Japanese moss ball planter. You’ll get everything you need (including a healthy plant and a beer in hand) plus step-by-step guidance on creating and caring for your new green friend. No experience needed! Music Bingo with Ben
Every other Wednesday, or thereabouts, our taproom manager Ben hosts Music Bingo from 6-8pm. The premise is fun and simple—each round is variations of a theme, and you must match snippets of songs to your squares. Say, for example, the theme is Umlauts. You better brush up on your Björk, Mötorhead, and Blue Öyster Cult.

Mahjong 101 with The Mahjong Society
Join Dovetail Brewery and The Mahjong Society as we host an evening of Mahjong 101! Learn something new and make new friends as you get expert instruction in this strategic tile-based game. Get your tickets here!

Sip n Stitch
Our bartender and tour guide Liz is also co-owner of Cogs Cycles and Yarns, a very cool bike-slash-knitting store on the Northwest side.

A Chicago-based magician and “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” alum, Brielle is helping revive tavern magic, a close-up style born right here in Chicago, with performances at spots like Beard & Belly and Long Room.

Berliner Day with Bitter Ex and Beard & Belly
Way back in 2023, we brewed a Berliner Weisse that we released that August. But being that we like to brew things the old-fashioned way, we brewed this beer with Brettanomyces, which was traditionally found in the Berliners of yore. It takes some time for Brett to make itself known, so we’re re-releasing it and serving it Berlin-style, with syrups by Bitter Ex. Beard & Belly will bring the currywurst.

Enjoy an evening of our nationally-recognized Kölsch-style service.
Our taproom will turn into a bierstube à la Köln, where we will serve you 200mL stange of Kölsch until you say “Stop.”

BAD JOHNNY'S x DOVETAIL Flammkuchen Party!
Our longtime pal and pizza wiz Bad Johnny is rolling up to the taproom with his wood-fired oven for a special collaboration: Flammkuchen!
What the heck is Flammkuchen? It’s a thin, crispy flatbread from the Alsace region, traditionally topped with crème fraîche, onions, and bacon. Delicious, right? For this collab, we’re giving it a Dovetail twist—the dough is made using Hagen’s sourdough starter, fermented with Dovetail’s own spontaneously-fermented beer. We’ll also be pouring some Flammkuchen-friendly beer specials!

Franconian DAY
In our biergarten on Sunday, July 20, we’ll showcase the beers we make that reflect this region of Germany—Rauchbier and Lager. Rauchbier, of course, being the famous, smokey beer of Bamberg.
Also at our Franconian Beer Hall, we’ll also showcase a couple of the region's delicacies with our friends at Beard and Belly: The Coburger Bratwurst and the Bamberg-style onion.

Chicago Not Dogs & BĒF Pop-Up
Chicago Not Dogs joins us to serve their creative, plant-based twists on classic Chicago dishes like hot dogs (natch) and their own brand of Chicago-style Italian beef sandwhiches they call Italian Bēf. Tested for over a year with delicious results!

Dovetail Xmas in July!
Get into the Fa-la-la-la-ger spirit as we deck the taproom to celebrate Xmas in July with Glühslushies, Xmas beers on draft, deals on to-go beer, and a mini-market of local makers and artists. Only 159 shopping days left!

This weekend, order your Dovetail Helles the Indonesian way—poured over ice. Called bir es, it’s how millions across Southeast Asia enjoy their beer: cold, crisp, and perfect for hot days and spicy food. And we’re serving it alongside the bold menu of Bumbu Roux, a food truck that blends Indonesian and Creole flavors.
